Spindle Voltage Requirements

I understand that the spindle will run on 120 VAC, or single phase 240 VAC. I have 3 phase 208 VAC. Single phase will also be 208 VAC. Will single phase 208 VAC work on this machine?

Thanks!

You need a transformer to run single phase 120. I don’t think single phase 208 would work maybe it would but run at half speed but not sure how the innerworkings of the drive work.

It will work just fine. Just run the correct gauge wire to the receptacle. Overkill on the wire is always a plus. I would run 6 or 8 gauge. 30 amp breaker.

I kind of though it would, being only 6% off the 220VAC. What I really need is the spec sheet / tech manual for the servo drive to verify. Any respectable drive manufacturer will allways list the supply voltage tolerances. Can anyone tell me the brand / model number for the servo drive?

Thanks!

This is the drive in my MR1:

I assume they are all the same.

You’re awesome! Thanks!!!
Manual states: “Single phase/Three phase 220VAC -15%+10%”. It appears 208VAC is well within the operating range.
