Setting up a used crossfire pro: torch not firing

Hey folks. I just purchased a used crossfire pro and have it all setup. Everything is working, except that the torch will not fire via software. I do hear the rely click inside the box when it tries to fire, but there is nothing from the plasma cutter. Per this post, I was able to get the torch to fire by shorting the barrel connector.

Thanks in advance for any help!

What plasma cutter do you have?

Is the torch on/off cable going directly from the plasma cutter to the torch on/off port on the electronics enclosure?

Thanks for the quick reply.

I have a Razor Weld Cut 45.

Yes, my wiring is as follows:
Div output → Electronics box
PV output →Plasma Cutter torch on/off
Div input → Plasma cutter voltage divider port

I’ve tried swapping the torch on/off and divider port with no success.

That’s your problem. The torch on/off goes directly to the electronics enclosure where it says “torch on/off”

It does not connect to the VIM (black plastic box).

You may have it wired wrong

Thanks guys! The torch is now firing with the suggestion that ds690 made, but the THC isn’t working correctly. Let me do some more troubleshooting/double checking tomorrow.

Ok, thanks again guys.

Everything seems to be working except for the THC. I run the troubleshooting steps and it’s showing 0.0V for the live voltage test. I confirmed that I have voltage coming out of the 50:1 port on the plasma cutter to the VIM, and that there is voltage coming out of the VIM to the enclosure.

Am I missing something obvious, or do I need to follow the troubleshooting procedures to take apart the enclosure and check the THC unit itself? I do see the torch speed working in the THC control pane.

Since this was a used table, I would confirm that the THC chip is properly installed on the board inside the electronics enclosure.
