Reversing The X Axis Lead Screw Bearing Mount

I am currently assembling my Crossfire Pro and want to reverse the installation of the X Axis Lead Screw Bearing Mount.

The reason is I will mount the electronics enclosure on the wall at the right side of the table. Reversing the X Axis Lead Screw Bearing Mount would result in the stepper motor mount on the right, and I could use the two motors with short cords on the right side.

The problem or issue I’m concerned about is the Fire Control impact. Is there a way to reverse in the software?

There is no easy way to change it in Firecontrol. Extension cables for the stepper motors would be much easier.

100 percent, just extend them. I’ve extended all of mine to mount my control box up and away from the table. Has worked great for 3 years using extension cables off Amazon.

yes just use extension cables. you could possibly rewire the driver to make the motor work on the opposite side but using extension cables is definitely much easier. make sure to get “straight thru” serial or DB9 male to female extension cables.

Thanks much to you all that provided feedback. The extension cables make sense. I’ve already ordered.

Are there any other features in the cable we should be concerned about? For instance shielding.

I wasn’t considering shielding at all when I purchased mine and I haven’t experienced any problems. Perhaps there is a standard shielding on them? It’s been so long I can’t find a link to my Amazon order.

Given the Stepper Drivers used in CrossFire, shielding would not be necessary.
