Replacement X Axis Lead Nut

So my computer wigged out the other day and hung up as I was moving the x-axis to the far left. The carriage went full left to the stop and the stepper motor kept running before I could turn the power off. Now I think it stripped my X Axis Lead Nut. Now is seems to hang up in that one spot. Is it possible to purchase another lead nut? or is there another fix?

Thanks,
Scott

Thank you for the reply and info.

I would hope they don’t strip out that easily. I always home my machines by bumping up against the hard stop. I don’t let it just sit there and grind though.

I would recomend not doing that. It is hard on the coupler and motors…and puts torque on the machine.
When you get close to the hard stop…stop…reduce your travel speed and then creep up to the hard stop.

I agree with not slamming it home full speed isn’t the best idea. But the drive nut shouldn’t be that fragile and I realize the couplers are prone to slipping.
