So I was running parts on the crossfire pro and my laptop could no longer see any available wireless networks. I had lots of 80amp pierces that were close to x,y zero (literally inches from the laptop)
Ai tells me the high levels of EMI can damage your wifi card. Anybody else have this problem? Ai says I should have the laptop about 5 feet away from the cutting torch.
I had the same problem last week. It was a Windows update to the WiFi or Intel. I downgraded the driver, and everything is now working correctly. I could see the Wi-Fi, but there was no internet on any of my routers.
This is a new laptop. Most of my cutting was done on my old laptop and at 60 amps. I though maybe my new laptop was more sensitive and now that I’m running the full 80 amps… I’m hoping it’s just and update issue. My co-work also told me I could change out the wifi card pretty easily.
I no longer have any wifi options. My computer is acting like it doesn’t have a wifi card installed. Just to be safe I’m gonna put my laptop on a cart that’s a couple feet away from now on.
Thanks for the tip. I’m gonna try and rollback my windows updates tonight.
Not listed. She’s toast. Got a new one on order. Should be here in 2 days. If that doesn’t fix it i’ll have to get a usb wifi adapter which I really don’t want.
I was able to swap out the wifi card and she now works again. I can’t prove with certanty that the emi fried it but the AI bots that I asked all suggest that’s the most likely. So I will just be setting my machine a little bit farther away from now on.
I was rooting for the ‘2 or 3 laptop trial’, so I asked AI: “Do AI bots understand the concept of adventure?”.
Reply: “AI bots can process and generate text about the concept of adventure based on the data they have been trained on, but they do not have personal experiences or emotions to truly understand it. They can simulate discussions about adventure, but their understanding is limited to patterns in the information they analyze.”
My interpretation of that AI response: An AI bot will never be heard saying, “Here, hold my beer”.
