Pierce Delay - Intermittent Issue

Having issues with Firecontrol bringing up the error code to ‘adjust my pierce delay to at least .5 Seconds’, it emits a spark but cuts out with the error code.

I can generate and cut straight lines within the fire control program and they come out perfect.

I took apart the torch nozzle and the electrode is able to depress and everything is just snugged up, not too tight, but it obviously works because straight cuts are flawless.

I thought it was something in the G-code, but I watched the Langmuir videos too many times to admit and still couldn’t get a successful pierce.

Any ideas out there?

So what is your pierce delay set to? Attach your gcode.

I start off at .5, but have gone down to .3 and up to 1.5 with the same results. Only thing that changes is an obviously longer pierce activation.

What part of the G-code should I post?

Use the attach file feature, it’s the icon that has an up facing arrow in reply box.

GCode looks OK.
What material thickness are you trying to cut?
Same material you ran the straight line test on?
Is the ground clamp on the material? No ground clamp will have a similar result as you are have, torch fires then goes out.

14 GA hot rolled, same material, ground clamp is on drain plug and hasn’t moved.

When I ‘generate’ a line, I choose 66 IPM, and it cuts like butter.

Not quite sure why it will cut straight lines in firecontrol just fine, than I load in a complex item within 30 seconds and it forgets how to do it’s job haha.

When you generate a line is the option for IHS on?
If not, try one with it turned on. That will also enable THC.
When you cut a line, do you see the live voltage displayed in Firecontrol?

I’d move the ground clamp to the material for now, just to remove any possible failure points.
