Seems to me the thing EVERY company doesn’t seem to do these days is simply communicate updates either 1) occasionally or 2) when THEY learn something that we customers would like to know (such as extra delay or “this” is now here so we’ll be shipping by xx/xx/21 or whatever. Some could simply do this better, others are simply terrible.
I also have no problem with my shipment from Langmuir. They are a few days late, but to me a few days seems like nothing after already waiting the expected 3 months. I’m just noting something companies could do since you asked. For instance, I didn’t get some notifications when things were shipped though I did get an email notifying me that it’s out for delivery. No big deal, but it is something.
I don’t even know if this is possible, but maybe a notification update once they are much closer would be good and helpful, like “your shipment is now expected to ship in 15 days” or whatever. For me it was like a very long expected wait, then a sudden surprise “It’s at your doorstep”.
My first table i got shipping notification at 10 am one day. At 7 pm that same day the big brown truck backed up to my shop and it was here. So did it travel 2500 miles in 9 hours? It was one them suddon saprises for sure.
Honestly my expectation would be the package is on the way with in the month stated. Example, mine is May (Yay!). So i would expect all boxes required would be on the way by May 31st. Even if it all got sent out on May 31st that is still meeting the “Ships in May” message. Here’s to hoping I have boxes to start showing up soon.
Just got the tracking number for box 1 of my pro(order number 242**). Seems like ages ago that i made my order but its finally on its way, but per langmuirs email i may have to wait awhile longer for the razor45 to get here.
Well, because I’m a busybody and can’t help but want to post stuff, can I expand shipment date info to include non-Langmuir items?
My info is about Hypertherm plasma cutter. I ordered mine (Powermax 65) on 2/23 with 8 to 12 week lead time, at the time. Since there are several sources selling these, the source nor order number matters much so don’t need to list that - all sellers will be in about the same boat. Called yesterday to ask if there is any info update. They called Hypertherm who replied it might be ready either Monday 5/10 or in four weeks. I say, nice of Hypertherm to have such a tight operation that they know what’s going on inside their own company.
That’s really something to have such rough resolution not to know whether you have stock going out three days off vs. four weeks! I can understand supply chain problems being a thing and I’m OK if there are uncontrollable delays. But for the life of me I cannot think of a way to wrap my head around being able to accept when a company has ZERO idea about what, when & whether they can ship something one business day in the future or not, and also to not feel it important to inform waiting customers about ANYTHING either way, but rather just let it be a surprise when stuff arrives at their door.
Note that my ire is not directed at the seller I ordered from, but at Hypertherm. Good products, maybe do their best to meet demand, but the most basic reasonable communication gets a huge Fail.
Oh well. I guess that leaves more time to finish my shop remodel, and also time to scare up a different plasma to borrow temporarily in the meantime… if I can find anything compatible that is.

Same here. Order 246xx received box #3 on Monday. No word on boxes 1&2 as of yet.
Right after I wrote this box #2 and the THC box shipped. Still no box #1, the frame.
I am also in the 25,5XX and have yet to get any shipping email. Like a kid at waiting on Christmas is an appropriate description of my situation also. They said June so I will expect July to keep me grounded throughout June
