Would greatly appreciate some guidance from this group. I’m running a crossfire pro, Razercut 45 CNC, Ingersoll rand 80 compressor in my barn. Just got the table in Dec and it’s been cold. I have a three stage filter at the tank and a dessicant filter at the cutter. A couple things I have going on. My initial cuts were on 14g steel (what I had a lot of on hand).
I am blowing through consumables. I bought hypertherm consumables from Airgas (not 100% sure if their correct, but they look like 30A).
I seem to miss the first 3 - 5MM on new cuts. Any THC adjustments that may solve this?
Getting a lot of dross on them and the tips I bought seem to struggle in tight lettering.
I have fusion and just started getting familiar with Sheetcam. Again, I looked through the forum and have tried a few things but with this I thought it wise to reach out to this group and get their insights. Appreciate any help.
Since your issues are at the start of your cuts, here are a few more pieces of info that will help with suggestions to solve your issue: Pierce height and delay duration; air pressure at the cutter’; lead-in length and angle; work clamp (some people call it “Ground Clamp”) attachment method and placement; and are you following the RW cut chart recommendations.
You need a super fine particulate filter if you’re running desiccant right before the plasma machine. Most all of us have a motor guard at minimum as the last step before our machines. Desiccant has dust that can be kicked up and damage your plasma set up.
Thanks. My plan was to eliminate the dessicant at the pump if I go the route of the refrigerator dryer. Would welcome any advice from the group. Right now we are still snowed in and just had power a few days.
