I recently ordered the THC and Limit switch kit and the Limit switch works great ! THC actually runs with everything seemingly functioning properly (torch moves up and down and THC window seems to be correct in response), but the torch doesn’t fire and the air doesn’t click on . I rechecked everything, made sure there’s no ground between the data cable and the machine, ran the test feature and the torch works fine with the test ( the plasma plugged in like normal in the main control box.) Its almost like there’s something that needs to be added in the g code for the THC in SheetCam ? The machine is a Langmuir Pro, the plasma is the Razorcut 45 and the torch is the machine torch. All are about 3 years old and yes the Razorcut 45 was purchased from Langmuir. I’d pull my hair out if I had any LOL.
Are you saying that the torch fires when you hit the manual torch fire button in Firecontrol?
How do you know the THC is working if the torch doesn’t fire?
The THC only works in response to voltage readings from the plasma cutter.
The IHS system is what moves the torch up and down to set the pierce and cut height. That system works with or without a THC installed.
In the THC window to the left there’s a test button and when you go through the prompts it has you plug the wire from the plasma to the normal torch plugin on the control box. Yes you do a manual fire of the torch and it works. I’ll clarify by saying when I put in a job with THC it touches off and runs the program without the torch running but the readout window on the THC “acts” like it’s functioning correctly. It shows it firing, moving up and down and different readings on voltage.
That doesn’t make any sense at all. How would it show voltage readings when the torch isn’t on?
To be clear, you have the torch on/off wire from the plasma cutter plugged into the electronics box where it says “torch on/off”. This is always the same whether you have a THC or not
The divided voltage wire from the plasma cutter to the “DIV input” and a wire going from “DIV output” on the VIM to the THC port on the electronics box.
Nope it doesn’t, but I have it going from the plasma divider port to the DIV IMPUT of the VIM box and the electronics enclosure with the output voltage cable to the DIV OUTPUT on the VIM box like the instructions said, there is nothing going to the torch side of the electronics enclosure!
The torch on/off cable always goes from the plasma cutter directly to the electronics enclosure torch on/off port. There is no way for the plasma cutter to fire without that cable connected.
The other cable from the plasma cutter (divided voltage) goes to the DIV input on the VIM.
A cable goes from the VIM DIV output to the THC port on the electronics enclosure.
The other ports on the VIM are not used in this application.
Ok that makes sense but they didn’t provide another cable in the kit to go from the Razercut to the VIM there was my confusion and no one anywhere has a video of the plug n play or pictures on all the connections. So in conclusion I need Langmuir to send me a THC input cable to go from the second divider port to the VIM BOX
