My Frankenstein Crossfire

Now that my warranty has expired, I decided to hack up my table. I upgraded my Crossfire with the XL kit when I bought it a year ago. I saved the old Y-axis rails and lead screw for the project someday. With some careful cutting and welding, I expanded my Z-axis to 31". But I wanted more. More careful measurements, a new 52" gantry, a new lead screw, and precision drilling, I’m able to expand even further to 42". Some modified Y-axis brackets my end result is 34"x42". Only parts needed ro by was 52" aluminum 2x2 for the gantry and a new lead screw from the XL kit. Sorry for the crappy pics and mess. I still need to fab a water tray and reorganize.

Looks good sir!

I am especially glad to see that I am not the only one out there with a shop that has 10 tons of tools and stuff everywhere.

I always say “I’ll clean up later”…but then something else ‘pops up’ so it rarely actually happens :beers:

That’s an industry standard.
