My CrossFire Pro Build

Hey man…no matter how tough decisions are…there is always a silver linning or a beam of sunshine just around the corner

Did you use the grommet insert and drill thru the top tube to mount the monitor arm?

@nicaDd
I don’t understand about the grommet insert, but I did drill through the tube to mount the monitor arm.
I recommend flush with the end of the tube, but in any case between the plate bolts.

Yes , in the instructions that is the grommet option which would go into the holes of a desk where you would route the wiring thru instead of the other way which would clamp on the edge.

I’ll need to shorten that bolt a tad as it will hit the top of the bottom tube…

Thanks for the info.

Hawk, thinking of getting this for my crossfire pro. You have been running it for awhile now, how has it been working out.

Works great and no issues. As I’ve said before a little slow to boot and load Firecontrol but once load it runs fine. O differs then my dell laptop.

A question for the guys running touch screens. Do you have a issue with the jog buttons latching on ? With a physical mouse you would click and hold, when you release it stops. With the touch screen you click and it runs until you click again.

yup it’ll do that. no work around that i know of as of yet.

I have done some deep research into the “Latching Jog Button” issue and found a cure.
When you press a jog button hold it and slide your finger off of the button (still pressing) until you get where you want then release it.
That is PRESS, SLIDE, RELEASE.
The operating system sees that sequence of movements as a cancel event and “unpresses” the button.

Maybe not the most intuitive solution, but better than having to remember to press the button a second time.

Do you still have these?

I still have the 3-Dprinted parts but nothing else.

Pm sent, thanks for getting back so soon.

For those of you that have been using the small computers, how is it working thus far. Have you had any problems with any of the fire control software updates. I am thinking about getting one and looking at an I5 processor.

@sr71xjet - I bought a second one and put it and a touchscreen on my Shapeoko 3 XXL CNC router.
I think 4Gb is minimum memory required so Windows can do updates.
There are lots to choose from on Amazon.

Let us know how it has worked out for you.

Looking at this one and the same monitor u have.

@sr71xjet - If you are only planning on running FireControl it is overkill. You can get one for half of that.
64Gb of SSD storage is more than enough so don’t pay for more than that.
Also, see how they are mounted.
This is the last one I bought

and mounted it to the monitor with this

What!? You didn’t cut a bracket on your Crossfire!? Gosh, Jim, I think this warrants some kind of penalty…

Seriously, I do have a question, have you done an upgrade to the OS on either of your minis? I’m torn on these because I really dislike being at the mercy of MS Windoze whimsy. I’m trying to wean to all Linux, but the SW isn’t all there yet.

This is a very cool build! Did you account for a bit of splashing from the water table when choosing a location for the mounted power strip?
