Good evening guys I seem to have come across a problem which I’m not sure if anyone else has seen. I was machining a small part and the mr1 simply said failure then came up with unknown at the bottom of the screen and the whole screen is just standing still and you cannot make any adjustments at all has anybody ever come across this if so how do you fix this problem.
You have lost communication with the control board.
- The control board failed.
- Bad USB cable.
- The computer USB has failed.
The control board is powered by a 5-volt USB connection from your computer. The Drivers and VFD are then powered by the power supply inside the control box.
Try a different USB port on your computer or a different computer. If it’s still grayed out, call Langmuir for a new board.
I’m on my second one myself.
I hope this is what the problem is and I hope it’s not something that’s going to keep happening I have had this unit for a long time it was one of the first ones shipped out so I’ve had a good run I cannot complain but at the same time there’s not that much information given about it I’ve tried calling Jake on this particular thing and he says basically the same that you said so I will try and see whether this is my problem and then order the appropriate parts thank you for the help

Okay guys I have found the problem the problem was not the control board or the USB the problem was a small black wire which goes to the emergency shut off had come disconnected and was hanging on the inside of the panel reconnected it home dip at his acting good now so this is another thing to check that the emergency switch button is not interfering with everything else thank you
