MR-1 parts (some free, some not) in Seattle

I don’t want to ship. I live in NE Seattle.

Free stuff, this is all left over from my system upgrade:

  1. Original electronics enclosure, empty, slightly modifications.
  2. Original spindle shroud. Only modification is a probe holder for the top.
  3. Probe parts with blown electronics. The most useful parts are the spare probe tip and tool setter platform. You could buy a V2 upgrade kit from Langmuir and make these work again, since that includes the circuit board.
  4. MR-1 computer mount (the leg and platform that fit on the front left leg). Never used, still in plastic.

I’d love for someone to take all of the free stuff together.

For sale:

  1. 4x Leadshine EM542S stepper drivers and stock steppers. I found these to be an upgrade to the stock drivers and there are a lot of threads on how to use them with CutControl or other control systems. You also get my lightly used (and never with flood coolant) original steppers. I moved to Clearpath servos for my MR1. $150.
  2. Original spindle servo. No controller. $100

Reminder, pickup only in Seattle, which I know excludes 90% of this forum.

Hey, Im interested in your parts! I’ve got a 1st gen machine and finally had it going good and Y2 is now missing steps. I’ve thoroughly trammed the machine and checked all lash etc. I think it is the driver or the stepper going out. seems Y2 cant keep up with Y1 on short rapids. I’ve read everything you’ve done to your machine. and I plan on converting to acorn or linux soon. But right now I need to get the machine cutting again in the stock form. I know its an old post but if you still have the drives and original steppers Id have no problem picking them up. I live in Port Orchard and often visit my dads shop in Snohomish. It would be easy to swing by and pick up for me.

Just to verify, the leadshine drivers do work with the stock langmuir control?

Maybe the answer is obvious but I am JUST learning about putting together cnc control setups

Hah, I was going to say this is an ancient thread. But I do have the leadshine drives, I was just hanging onto them in case I had a future project for them. I’m happy to sell them, you can send me a DM for contact info.

They do work with the standard control and there are other threads on here for using them.

Missing steps on Y probably means that your gantry isn’t properly square, and I would check that before swapping hardware.

The gantry is square. Power off I could not turn the Y2 ball screw by hand until I disconnected the motor coupler, then the ball screw spins freely. The motor seems to be seized, probably due to coolant. So if you still have the motors along with them then Its a deal. Ill send you a DM now.
