Make Fire Control Open Source --- Pretty PLEASE!

Not sure whose in control of the Software.

There are alot of really smart “Makers” in these forums. Making the software open source as you know would allow for the Smart Guys and Gals to input some great features.

Of course keep a locked verified version but let the Smart People play around and make some edits.

It would only serve to boost feature and usability of FireControl at no cost to Langmuir

Just a thought. Thanks for your consideration.

You might give the Beta version a try. @langmuir-zachary was asking for input on that version.

Perhaps this could also be an avenue to consider:

I’m not one of the smart guys… Fire Control is working for my needs. I can only do simple edits to software programs. I have hacked cellphones, xbox, games, DVD drives and a few other items.

I did not realize Shopsabre had purchased Langmuir. Interesting.

Deleted my comment because like many other users on this forum, the request for Firecam’s development fell on deaf ears.

I thought this would be a more popular post. I’m not a software programmer but I know many people love to tinker with software like most of us like to tinker with hardware. I have seen some really cool project get built with open source software when developers don’t have the time to mess with them. Also if shopsabre is not going to put effort into the Fire Control then open it up. There is no danger only progress.. Either way it was just a thought experiment. I can’t do the work not smart enough for programming I can barely spell my name

Fire Control is a Java program. There are lots of free decompilers out there. Its basically open source already.
