I just set up the pro and messed around for a couple hours getting used to it. Now when I jog in the y direction I cannot get it to stop, will run right to the end limit and keep trying to go, I slowed down the jog speed to 10 to give me more time to see what was going on, even at 10 just continued to run despite any attempt to stop. Not sure where or what to check from here,
Thanks,
Are you using a touchscreen or wireless keyboard? I’ve seen where some users with wireless keyboards were experiencing same thing because of low batteries.
are you using a Microsoft Surface? i had endless problems very similar to that, and Langmuir had to send me a special USB device to put between the machine and the surface.
weird… I’ve been using a surface pro 5 for about 2 years now with no issues.
you got lucky, i guess? Langmuir straight-up admitted the machine’s incompatibility with a Surface is a very common issue. they asked me to try a different computer, and i told them i wasn’t going to buy another computer, lol. so they sent the USB device. but anyway not to get off-topic, if OP has a Surface, that is probably his issue. if not, then i would also make sure FireControl is on 20.6 because 20.5 was buggy for me when jogging.
the other thing to check is for crisscrossed wires all hanging behind the control box…tidy them up add a few ferrite chokes to be safe.
make sure if using a laptop to remove the ground from the charger or remove the charger when using the laptop and the Croddfire…it has been known to have that issue.
also…go into your profile and delete the folder Crossfire…it sometimes helps with this.
I would think all those interference issues would only occur when the plasma cutter is trying to cut, not just trying to jog the machine.
Using a Dell laptop with windows 10, battery was running low at the time, will plug in laptop and give it another shot.
Using laptop with windows 10, but now that you mention it the battery was low, will plug it in and re try. Thanks
i ran into same issue the other day…it was like the key on the keyboard just stuck, but nothing would respond. I yanked usb cable and plugged it back in. Weird thing is it worked for the prior 3 days no issue. Plasma cutter was not even on.
Same here, I did those and also plugged in my laptop to the charger, no issues
I’ve been having the same issues as well. Since the last update it has seemed to be less dramatic. Before, it would just keep going even when I pressed stop or a direction key. But now, after the update, I can at least get it to stop by pressing a directional key but it still sometimes takes off again and I have to press the keys several times. Sometimes it will stop on the first key stroke and sometimes not. Its frustrating to say the least and I now anticipate it on every move at the end of run. Laptop plugged in, no chokes, and poor cable management. So I’ll try doing as suggested.
For what it’s worth, I use a MS Surface Pro and a MacBook Pro (I’d prefer to only use the MacBook as the Surface is for my Shapeoko machine, but SheetCam isn’t OSX). Both have no issues with the plasma table, both while plugged into A/C power while running.
