Losing Arc after pierce

Been a crossfire user since day one. My plasma cutter is a Hypertherm 45xp wired for raw voltage. Overnight started having arc loss after pierce. As soon as torch starts moving i lose arc everytime. When i restart program it runs through flawlessly 19 out of 20 times. My live voltage at rest is sitting at 3.6v which seems odd. I’ve checked every wire for physical connection and all appears solid. I’ve moved my ground to various locations with no change in results. My consumables are hypertherm and I have changed them many times to see if i get a different result, which i did not. I have a second pro table with thc at my cabin with an everlast 65 wired for div voltage and i seem to have the same issue with that table as well (although i have not used it much)

Lastly, I’ve just noticed initial height control seems to be touching down hard. I have attached a video link https://drive.google.com/file/d/1PhSJ1zjtPcitb5CcTJaFOyi7_QnWUaj7/view?usp=sharing of touch off. Maybe I just noticed it and it’s always been that way? If anyone could give some advice on what to check I would be grateful.

Hi Craig, i believe that the plasma cutter is losing arc because the plunge rate from the plunge height to the cut height is much too slow. Speed that up to 50 ipm.

What’s more peculiar is that in the video i can tell that there is a significant delay between when the IHS switch opens upon touchdown and when the z motor stops driving downward. Do you ever get IHS fault codes?

Can you attach your program file?

drying stand horz orient.nc (6.0 KB)

i have never gotten a ihs fault. i moved plunge rate from 3.9 which i guess is default to 50. i will try again and post results.

Okay I am still having the problem and quite frankly it seems to be getting worse. Here is a current program file for cutting 1/4" mild steel. Problem has occured countless times trying to cut 28 of these parts.
Body Spacers.nc (686 Bytes)

it looks to me that the torch is just raising up after it fires and starts moving. I am using smart voltage.

here is vid of misfire. Happening everytime now can’t use machine. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_mOlMb2c4zhzk499pm5wRtCKUdWxIGnQ/view?usp=sharing

Wired for raw voltage. Again, been using this machine for a long time with no issues. Help please

have you fixed this problem? last couple of times i have used my table i have had a similar issue, will be cutting just fine then randomly losses voltage and i have to restart the cut. happened 8 or more times on a full sheet (33x48) of 1/4" parts. new consumables, tons of clean dry air, great ground, etc… not reason why it should do this that i can finger out.
