Looking for HELP and info!

There is no water in the table fellas :grimacing: i was just doing dry runs to see if this thing would cut out. Now that i know it will i am going to set it up. Im going to give it another go and see how this goes. I will update you guys and will start sharing more info along the way to get this thing dialed in.

NOOOOOO STOP. Don’t ever plasma cut with a dry water table. You WILL blow holes in it. When we talk about doing dry runs meaning that we turn the plasma cutter off and run a program on the CNC table.

You will also warp your water pan resulting in the slats never sitting even

Sorry for the scare and i think i misused the term dry run … but i did fill it with about 4g of water. Im glad nothing happened to the table :grimacing: that will never happen again!

Got better results today with a project im working on. 16g steel cut out some music notes 32A 70PSI .2 arc lead in. I did have to finish cutting out all the piece. That is progress so ill take it :beers:

What speed? 120ipm or so? If too slow it can melt the slag back together

does not seem like enough water…
I fill my table …which sits real level…to about 1/4" from the top of the water table…in other words…as full as I can make it without spilling over.

I get good splash up under thmetal to keep it nice and cool while cutting.

I was at 100ipm ill jump up to 120.

Ok toolboy i have some more to go i will top it off, i have a regular crossfire water table.

You have air compressor at 125/150 or whatever it is for max. and then 75 at plasma cutter should be normal.
Drop amps to say 25/28 or so with 16ga, and with 120ipm and try.

.2 delay is perfect

Ok i will make the adjustments and let you guys know how that work

Thanks Everyone for the help and reaching my goal to cut by end of year! Happy New Years to you all! :beers:

I used about 7gal in my original Crossfire. One & a half orange Home Depot buckets :slightly_smiling_face:

Morning everybody! Hope you all had a happy and safe new years! Still trying to get thing dialed in. I have been working on all the software as well but definitely need to keep at it. I will get some files on here as well for you all to look at. As far as water goes topped it of with a little over 7 gal with some borax and Physan 20. I have looked up some recipes on here. How often are you guys changing the water out? Next time around i will add a modified drain, i have seen tons of mods on here which was pretty interesting. Also i have the regular crossfire with the xl kit, i haven’t cut anything that big out yet but when the time comes i was wondering about my pan, will it start too look like my slats? On that note i also need to make adjustments since it seems like the height changes as it moves around the table.

2 crossfire units…way to go…
I have not changed my water in all the time I have used it.
I use Greencut Plasma in my table…https://www.lubecorp.com/greencut-plasma-cnc-plasma-cutting/
I drain my table through a filtration system every couple of days through a filtration system (10 Micron)…hey it was a free filter…
and I keep the PH at the recommended levels by testing.https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0814FLQYQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and clean out the table with this…which is amazing

I have no growth…no rust…no scale…no real residue…

as for my water pan…it looks as good as new
