Live voltage to high issue

Been chasing down a few small issues with my crossfire pro, running a hypertherm xp 45 with machine torch, decided to run the thc health check and it’s saying my voltage is higher than normal, one test said 299.7v another said 284.5v, iv verified everything is hooked up correctly, Plamsa is set at 50.1, red cable hooked to (-) and black cable hooked to raw, measured the leads coming off the plasma during a straight cut and it was 130-140v, measure the little pins going from vim box to the main controller box mounted to table and it was 3v

Any ideas?? It’s been cutting fine untill last night when I noticed the torch height acting funny and running way higher than normal causing cut issues

@TinWhisperer would be the one to talk to about this.

Are you using raw voltage or divided voltage coming from your hypotherm 45 XP?

If you’re hooked to the raw voltage does it go from there to PV input on your vim?

these are the red and blacks that go to the vim box. than you i have a cable from the back of plasma cpc cable going into div input and the div output to the control box on table
@TinWhisperer

.

What are those raw voltage connections hooked to?

Can you take a picture of your vim and how it’s hooked up

Cannot use divided and raw voltage at the same time

So do i need to unhook either the raw voltage or the div input?

@TinWhisperer langmuir instructions are not clear on this

For now I would switch the one wire going to the electronics enclosure over to PV output from din output

And I would unplug DV input.

Let’s just try it with raw voltage to start

I’m sure you’ve read through these instructions but I’m going to post them here in case somebody in the future is following along

okay so i moved over to the pv output and unplugged the div input and did the test, now i have 0 volts.

so i switched back to div out output, and plugged in div input, unplugged raw black and red cables. did the test and it came up as 178.4 v. passed the test now.

I see why raw didn’t work try to switch the polarity ( switch black and red) then then it should work too.
The clamp is positive , the electrode in the torch is negative.

Okay that was the next thing I was going to get you to do is switch back over to divided voltage if it didn’t work on raw.

Those unplugged leads from the raw voltage are very dangerous I would go in and disconnect them from the plasma if you’re not using them.

You can use raw or divided, just not both.

awesome ill remove them from inside the plamsa. i was never stoked on them anyways. i wish langmuir would make it more clear you dont need them with the hypertherm and their cpc cable

thank you for your help. im hoping this solves alot of my issues
