Have had intermittent problems with limit switches and homing since i built my machine . Thought most of the problems were them being open to moisture . Replaced with the waterproof switches seem to cure problems for most part still an intermittent failure . Now it is worse then ever took look in machine found connections on new switches which appear to be over heating went to disconnect y1 and it disintegrated. Cannot find the switches on Langmuir website . Does anyone know of a switch that is a simple replacement ? Have seen post before for change overs but couldn’t locate them . Maybe I am looking in the wrong place now the x axis is tripping on the soft limit before it ever reaches the hard limit for the x axis . Does anyone know where the soft limit is located .
Email them; they will get it out right away. They only carry 5V, so overheating is not a concern.
Get two multimeters and make sure the Y axis switches are tripping at the same exact time.
If you want to upgrade, here is what I use on the X and Y switches. You will need to 3D print or machine mounting brackets.
They have small led’s molded into the cable that must be removed for CutControl to work correctly.
Thank you , I will get a set ordered the Langmuir limits have always seemed to be fragile . I would take a picture and post it of the corrosion or what appears to be over heating of the limits but haven’t figured out how to post a picture . Do you happen to know where to look for the soft limit , I am getting an alarm that x has reached it soft limit before it even reaches the hard limit .
The Y motor might be the cause of your heat issues. I suggest reviewing the limit switch and soft limit setup once more. Good luck to you. I’m getting ready for work.
