I have been exploring making my own threads. In this journey, I came across this video on tapered coils that I found very helpful.
He covers trimming surfaces, coils, ruled surfaces and how to control certain shapes that tend to twist when following a track/rail.
This ASA filament has been spot on with all of the prints I have tried. Absolutely no stringing or bubbles.
Note the Hotend size recommendations (don’t try with 0.2 mm). No shrinking. No warping.
Currently on sale at Amazon for today and tomorrow. Works in Bambu AMS without any changes of the spool.
The ASA has worked well for me so far, also—tough stuff.
Caution should be advised with the odors. They say the odor is less than ABS but some also add, ASA emissions may be more of a health risk than the ABS.
The only problem I had was having the bed temp at 90C: part moved and voila “Spaghetti.” I was afraid of having too high and then having trouble separating from the plate. I increased to 100C and no more issues and once it is cool to room temp, it release without any effort.
@ChelanJim I got some of this stuff and it works wonderfully. $45 per bottle but it goes on with a foam brush in seconds.Nano Polymer Adhesive – Vision Miner
The bottle last a long time. It is sure better than the glue sticks.
Anyone wanna help me make a cost effective carbon and HEPA filter that could double as a PAPR?
What kind of help are you looking for?
Designing a housing that is both belt mountable and can be put in an enclosure and has:
A) a decent sized fan (Amazon.com ?)
B) battery (and which one? Milwaukee M12? Amazon.com) or external wired 12v power
C) Power switch (Amazon.com ?)
D) Speed adjustment (Amazon.com ?)
E) HEPA filter(s) (Amazon.com ?)
F) carbon filter(s) (amazon.com/gp/product/B075TY1XK6 ?)
G) recirc into the enclosure, or into some kind of flexible pipe adapted to a respirator (3M 6200/6800?)
This was the last project I was working on printing until I was so fed up with my printers inability to schmoo out PETG that I gave up on it.
You need a fan that’s going to be able to deal with the static pressure of that filter, partially plugged. There is a lot of resistance against the air in those kind of systems that need to be accounted for. The high resistance air flow is going to equal high amperage on your motor.
Not nay saying idea, I like it very much.
I use a 3M adflo with a selstorm cutting Shield as my main go to well plasma cutting with a half mask underneath.
I just can’t afford $2500 for a fan to blow filtered air to my face. The market is ripe for competition, as 3m basically has none on these products.
You guys probably already know this: modifier blocks to change the parameters of your print in Bambu Studios.
(It is a quick 3 minute video but really only runs for 2 minutes with the instruction.) I had to learn this because Sticks insisted I change my ways and “stop doing 100% infill!” He didn’t actually come out and say it but I knew what he meant.
You can also do height modifiers, where you can change the parameters in a set height range.
I saw a guy making a TPU support bumper for a dump trailer and he made it progressive by varying the infill density with height modifiers. He made a very dense infill near the bottom. Slightly less infill in the middle and even less infill at the top.
I haven’t figured out the “layer” customizing yet. I started and got lost. I will try again.
just finished this little beauty - hot off the printer
DJI Osmo Pocket 2 Case
https://www.printables.com/model/946209-dji-osmo-pocket-2-case
Craig, watching you is like watching the science/technology channel. I had never heard of a ‘DJI Osmo Pocket 2’…never heard of what could be assumed the previous version ‘DJI Osmo Pocket’ either.
So that tiny camera has its own Gimbal Stabilization Mechanism. Incredible.
You know, if you are ever throwing some old stuff away like an older addition of say…
…any of your lasers, cameras, magnetic hold-down gizmos, 3D scanner, teleporting device, gold making machine…I will gladly pay postage for you to send to my address.
Did yours not come with the case or did you lose the original?
I got the creator combo and it didn’t include a case, which I thought was weird.
My wife got a new Kindle. Her last one was 6 years old and not holding a charge. She said she just wanted the “small one.”
She used it for the first time today. I ask how she liked it…since I just spent nearly the same amount of money on grinding discs (Thanks again, Craig!).
She answers "Well, the screen is the same size but the border is very thin so I am finding it hard to hold it very well. (Before Jim continues his joke on this thread I will say "Yes, she is used to holding onto something larger. )
I reminded her that I have a 3D Printer.
Fixed in less than an hour:
hero! Good for you.
