Print something for your wife and be the hero.

I’ve had mine for over a year and love it. Wanting a second one and regret having missed the Black Friday sale they had.

The BL forum is a great place to get tips, tricks, and help.

I’ve done the typical toys and trinkets to replacement parts and make life easier stuff at work.

Thanks…Today I’m the new guy learning this stuff.

Today’s 3D project.

What material did you use to make the mini press jig?

So many cool ways to use the wheels…

DS690 - I had a lot of trouble in freecad with threads untill I added the fasteners workbench. Not sure if you have found this but it made it super easy to have all sorts of threads and fastener types.

I used PLA-CF but for this it doesn’t matter. I did increase perimeter count to 6 for strength.

I’m working on product where I print custom v-slot wheel plates, more later.

I’m surprised these don’t warp over time given the side load with V Slot wheels…

I’ve added strengthened features.

So are you using Freecad for metal also? Friday was my first day learning modeling and one of the things I covered was threading in fusion. It seemed really simple but I did see where one guy said to offset one side of the threads to give you a little more clearance. I haven’t got my machine yet but like to understand if this was the trouble you’re talking about with threads.

Modeling external threads in FreeCAD requires making a spiral wire, sketching the thread form on another plane and then lofting that thread form along the wire.

Threaded holes are simple. You just make a hole(size doesn’t matter) and then just select threaded hole and define the size and thread pitch.

The other option is to use the fasteners workbench and use the threaded portion of a fastener to add or subtract the threads from the model using Boolean functions.

Fusion makes these things easier by automating some of the things that you have to do manually in FreeCAD.

Congratulations! This is the reason I urge people to learn Fusion 360. I got a 3D printer after my plasma table, and it changed my world! Even my plasma table has 3D printed parts!

Yup 3d printing almost seems like cheating lol.I love my plasma but 3d printing being additive make designing more enjoyable.

Etsy files made to cut out of wood on a laser. They had a front and a back file that i combined in tinkercad and added font and painted in bambu studio.

It’s great to have your experience on here.

I plan on making 3 of your designed hyperrthem cable holders this weekend.

Very useful! Maybe someone should recommend that @langmuir-reilly allow Mesh files to be uploaded to Fireshare… Oh! Wait! I’ve already done that! :upside_down_face:

In meantime we can just upload files as .dxf and say switch extensions to .obj…etc
