leaking Y axis Motor . How to prevent it again

The Y1 axis motor dead today . The rotor stops move anyway . I take it down , open the motor . There is lot fluid inside . Apparently , the leads cover is not liquid tight . The magnetic core rusted .

Any good suggestion to prevent it happen again?

my strategy is to just have extra motors on the shelf. When one dies it throw it away and put on a new one.

same, try to keep an extra one, been thinking of trying to make a cover to help with this too
