Langmuir Laptop stand

Just before Christmas I worked a lot with the CROSSFIRE PRO and finally I had enough of keeping my laptop on a stool. I was ordering something else out of Langmuir’ store so I also put in their laptop stand. I installed it last week.

I am a little confused, it wobbles when I use the computer for example to fix something in Fusion 360 or type. Is this normal? Also, the design does not allow it to swing enough, the movement is restricted to about 90 degrees. I installed it wrong?

Mine was also very wobbly. I quit using it very shortly after assembling my table about 2yrs ago.
I put my laptop on an old Harbor Freight welding table. I like it better there anyway since I can move back from the table while it’s cutting.

Somewhere in here people posted their setup, but I can’t find it.

I keep my mini pc (used to use my laptop) on a Harbor Freight tool cart

Drawers for all the consumables, spare parts, future plans. Now my Mini PC is inside the top cover, the monitor is mounted to the inside of the lid, and a keyboard tray (with mouse pad) that I can raise or lower and be able to close the lid. I can close it all up to keep it clean when not in use.

I use the 4 drawer version. I like it, I was going to mount a monitor to the inside of the lid. I think I’ve changed my mind on that now. I just have one of the boxes that electronics came in that sits inside the top of the box that I set my laptop on when cutting.

Oh I am not really looking for a cart. I wanted to understand if my Langmuir laptop stand was defective or if it is just the way it is. It appears to be the latter. I will probably just reinforce/modify it. I am surprised langmuir sells this the way it is.

I use the Langmuir laptop stand on my OG 2x2 and it works fine. It’s not rickety at all. I did move it the +X +Y corner, however but I don’t think I changed the mounting in any way.

Tons of files on Fireshare where you can just make your own.

This way you can also adjust the amount of swingout.

Mine’s a DIY and I use it a lot without issue.

Ditto. Also on my Pro and I made a bracket to attach it to my CNC table and can just swap it between machines.

So I checked the stand and the welds look OK, unless they changed the design or started using thinner gauge material…?

I saw this on Amazon this morning and thought it would make a great laptop stand to attach to a Langmuir machine.
