Make sure it’s got oil and I had to break mine in by running it for an hour with the valve open (so it wouldn’t build tank pressure) to seat everything. Not sure if they recommend that on the kobalt, but it might be worth doing on the new one to see if it has any issues from the get go. If it has a manufacturing defect, it will probably show up pretty quick.
