Hello gentlemen, I’m half way thru my crossfire pro assembly and am wondering about a few things. The feed screw on the Z axis assembly where it travels thru the plastic (nylon?) initial torch height “block”; does that need to be kept lubricated? I am very fond of Fluid Film but also know that it can swell certain plastics. Does anyone have any ideas on this? Also, I am considering boring out the drain assembly to make the hole larger. Thinking I would use a pipe coupler to tighten it down with instead of the jamb nut, then go to a 1/4 turn ball valve and a garden hose adapter. Does anyone know if that new and improved version of the dimple die that D&N Custom Creations made is still floating around out there? Saw a few of his videos and thought it was a great idea. thanks for your help, can’t wait to get cutting.
I have a XR and I’m not sure if its the same nut or not, I just lube with a little motor oil or #2 grease, I have not had any trouble.
Here is the Dimple die thread
Thanks, Knick, for hooking me up with this thread. This is one incredible group of people; the world needs more like this.
Regards.
SuperLube should do the trick for keeping lead screws and nuts properly greased and protected.
They make aerosolized and spray bottles too, just make sure you catch the overspray if you don’t want it on your parts / in your water table.
If you have to wait too long for the shipping of that die set you could always print your own swage.
I went with full-sized sink baskets with my XR.
Thanks for all the come backs. Like I said, a great group of guys!
Oh, I have a really stupid question… how do I log out of the forum?
Go to your C top right corner, click on it. You will see a drop down at the bottom click on the person icon and go to logout.
THANKYOU. My porch light flickers a bit but mostly it’s on.
