Making a bunch of flow indicators using my CNC Mini-Mill for a customer (the red plastic rotor i had in my junk box).
Here’s the prototype build:
when are you going to use lightning to bring it to life…???
Nice work.
I have one something like that on my tig water cooler to make sure it is flowing water.
Stay tuned, Next big project will be the refurbishing of a 1970’s Land Rover Series III. Negotiating the purchase now. Will be my pet vehicle. Thinking of lots of plasma-cut aluminum diamond plate floor and door panels and such.
Been busy cutting some auto and motorcycle wall signs for a few customers.
They range from 10” to 23”
nice video…nice work…great old radio collection…
you can buy these for $10 on amazon…4x4…all plastic
Amazon orders take 3 weeks to get here.
Was cutting spring yard art for the season and also cut out/Bent this prototype orbiting sander wall organizer.
Made from one flat piece metal.
A tack weld on each side.
This is made out of 14 gauge Mild Steel
It was cut on the crossfire pro with a Hypertherm PowerMax 85 running 45 amp unshielded consumables at 45 amps at 250 inches per minute.
The wall mount holds two orbiting sanders and a few packs of discs as well as some loose ones.
Not my work but at an art gallery in the Miracle Mile mall in Las Vegas. All done on aluminum. Beautiful work.
Public holiday here tomorrow. So, off I go, south of the island to audition another Land Rover, short wheelbase, rag-top this time. Sunday last we demoed a long wheelbase hard-top, out into some serious mud and slush in the middle of nowhere and got it well stuck, necessitating an excavator to get it out. Great fun, lots of beer and giggles. Can’t wait to restore one of these beasts, as I can foresee lots of plasma and mill work in the project.
…should I suddenly disappear from the forum, let it be known,I brought one of these beasts home and got killed by the lady of the house!
Well, at least the vehicle was upright when you had it pulled out of there!
@Cletus looking forward to all the pictures and story…from restoration to your impending demise from your wife…

Looking through my hard drive, An early project:
Brought this home in April 2006 (never rode a motor bike in my life)
Unveiled this in September 2006
I tried to pass on some ideas to my daughter. We were mixing concrete in a wheelbarrow. I demonstrated the tried and tested push and pull and scooping up to get to the dry mix with a hoe. Her turn, she just slaps at it with the hoe. I tried to say, “NO…let me show you again.” Her response, “No, I pretty much got it.” She was 16 at the time.
You are a great teacher and your granddaughter is a great student. Kudos to both of you.
WOW! (I wanted to post just WOW…but they won’t let me. My comment is still just: WOW)
I understand, my granddaughter and I have been doing various projects since she was 4. Its a real challenge these days to find something different enough to pull her away from gaming. If I showed her how to mix concrete now, I’d probably get the same reaction. Thanks for writing.
