Thank you that was a big one 16’ of 1/4” plate
I had back surgery a couple weeks ago. Before that, I started some mobile work stations and finished them today. I’m limited to 10lbs/6 weeks, then 25lbs/6 weeks. I had helpers today to wrap these up. I used these casters - VEVOR Leveling Casters, Set of 4, 2200 lbs Total Load Capacity, 2.5 inches, Heavy Duty with Upgraded Handle Design, 360 Degree Swivel Caster Wheels, Adjustable Casters with Feet for Workbench, Machine | VEVOR US They are cheap but do roll ok and the ratchet/foot mechanism works fine with a little 3-in-1 oil. It was good having a torch or grinder in my hand instead of pain meds.
Hope you have a speedy recovery Craig, and the surgery gets rid of your pain…
I always look forward to seeing your projects.
I will always remember a heart patient that had bypass surgery said his surgeon said “you are restricted to 10 pounds lifting…therefore you need to sit down to pee.”![]()
Heal up fast Craig, As Richard said I always look forward to your projects.
Great looking projects!
Pace yourself though, and hope you’re on your way to a speedy recovery.
Doctors told me to hold off on back surgery as long as possible - I sit here struggling to walk myself today ![]()
I had a Laminectomy. My feet would go numb after standing for more than 5-10 mins. Took about 2 years to manifest. Operation took about 90 minutes and was walking a couple hours afterwards. 1 night hospital stay (which sucked) then home. So far so good, I’m taking 3-4 short walks/day, 15 minutes. I get to finally walk my dog, Levi, since getting him last fall. Good for me and him.
Wow, never heard of such a procedure but looking at it seems like the benefits greatly outweigh the risks.
I have other issues altogether from the result of several injuries I sustained. Degeneration of my lower disk, L5 and T1 literally twisted in opposing directions, feet with failed arches (whereas I had arches before), and more.
Definitely get that tingling feeling in the feet, especially when just sitting at my chair they’ll tingle and/or feel like they’re going to sleep.
Like my old man always told me ‘if you don’t use it, you lose it’.
Walking will definitely do you and the doggo good!
Made the last mobile tool stand today. Went quick because third time’s a charm. Running the tube roller will be a tipping challenge but I’m willing to try or at least have a helper.
Little something for a guy that does all my wood work, from across the country
And some motorbike chain guards for a repeat customer
I’m making him mounts about every other week so it’s good, easy repeat business
Completely forgot I had even posted doing these legs earlier in the thread.
Got to working on putting everything together shortly after.
Custom 12’ wide shelf for my sister in law.
My friend made the wood top as I refuse to do anything wood-related.
Definitely looks better in person after the pics since I had taken those after install but before cleanup.
I forgot the acetone so I didn’t get a chance to wipe down all the metal.
Nice looking table looks sturdy as well… Park a D9 cat on it ![]()
I know my welds are solid but I think the wood and square tube would buckle long before anything else ![]()
The Bench looks great! Thanks for sharing.
For someone who doesn’t make signs, you do pretty decent wood working too! ![]()

This time, the wood work WAS actually outsourced!
Buddy did it out of his garage, and he was like “damn, I need a larger work table” lol It comprised of two 6’ x 2’ table tops.
Speaking of signs, I just finished this one for our front walkway today.
Second sign of the year, first layered sign….ever?
I uploaded it on Fireshare yesterday.
Cut a few things, still need to cut a lot more stuff and weld it all up.
This one had a fun little 34 minute run time lol
Not CNC related, but a quick small project.
We were fostering a dog, and I decided to adopt it, so I need to make a railing to block off a certain area between the covered patio pillar and the wall.
Had a stray cat living in the backyard just last week and it dug up some dirt which caused the kid and dogs to run through it - it had recently rained so they were getting muddy.
Have to thank those table extensions I made some weeks back; it prevented me from having to unclamp things and flip it all over for the last 3 bars.
I’ll have to weld on some legs for staking, then paint it but I’ll do that later as I have a ton of customer orders at the moment.
The newest member of the family, Hallie.
is that astro-turf or really-really-green grass?

Finally got some free time to start on belt grinder build, purchased build plans from Housemade.
cut all plates on my XR table, created center punch tool in sheetcam to mark all centers of holes and drilled holes on my newly acquired Bridgeport mill. The center punch tool I created in sheetcam leaves a mark as if you center punched with a hammer doesn’t work harden the material.
Still need to make cover for VFD enclosure for mill.
Last pic is dross that can be pushed off with my finger from parts cut, no grinding if cutter settings are right….
