IHC Cable extension cable and control box near 220 volt conduit

Since my motion control box does not mount to the table, I need to extend my IHC cable about 6 - 8 feet. If OK to do so what cable extension do I need? Also is the motion control box near 220 volt conduit an issue?

Does anyone know the name and size of the connector on the IHC cable so I can either order or make an extension cable? Thanks

Cutzilla. plate marker

It’s a standard 5.5mm x 2.1mm plug. I ordered a 26’ long cable that had the two wires separated more like a lamp cord to make it easier to splice. Since I plan on mounting the relay control box just behind the plate marker on the gantry I then used the other half of this cable to extend the length of the Cutzilla wall plug cord. i use extension cables for both torch firing cable and thc cable. works fine.

Those do not appear to be the cables I am referring to. I have attached images of the cable end and the motion control box connector.

I believe they are GX12 series connectors

Hi Greg, The expansion port is sized for a 6 pin gX12 female plug that can be used for a variety of things. For example you could add limit switches to each axis using 3 of the available outputs on the board. Other attachments like an air scriber could also be integrated.

Why not just reuse the one you have and run new cable or splice in an extension?

I went ahead and spliced in about 7 feet of cable. Thanks for the suggestion. I forgot that the IHC cable was unpluggable.
