Hello all,
I was curious what people are doing and what is recommended for the MR-1 when idle? Is pushing the E-stop enough or should the spindle and 110 power switches be powered off?
Thanks,
Hello all,
I was curious what people are doing and what is recommended for the MR-1 when idle? Is pushing the E-stop enough or should the spindle and 110 power switches be powered off?
Thanks,
I have separate breakers to everything and when I’m not using it I turn off all but the PC/monitor breaker.
The e-stop doesn’t disable the stepper drives, so I would recommend fully powering off to save power.
I knew something stayed on but didn’t know if it was fans or the motor drives. That makes me think the E-stop should kill everything or at the least have the power switches located on the cabinet front.
I think I’ll implement something like you have shown @Bigdaddy2166
Its just a three pole 40 amp contactor.
Two legs run the spindle and the remaining leg is a separate 120v to run the control box. The computer stays on.
You can get 240v or 120v coil on it and wire it accordingly.
