Was cutting got 275 pierces with tip. Forgot ground clamp once and blow back on aluminum again. Tip had some junk on it got it off. Now kind of cuts at angle sometimes during cut now. Is tip junk ???
Yeap, its toast its cutting off center. You can still use it for stuff that does not need any detail.
What sync consumable is that?
Just a reminder to anyone else reading. fine consumables are not used for aluminum.
I’m not sure if these are fine cut consumables pictured above but I have a feeling.
Also it looks like it has drag standoffs? Can you please post what model number of cartridges you’re using.
Its a sync 45 mechanized fine cut tip. That was bought when got Hypertherm 45 Sync from Langmuir… Thats what a mechanized fine cut tip looks like it has standoffs…
Your right it sure is a drag cartridge. I missed that when I looked at the picture.
I’ll have to double check but I believe there is no cutting chart for aluminum for fine cuts and a warning in the manual about not using them for aluminum.
The Cartridge is Gray in colour?
It is confusing but it looks like the gray finecut mechanized cartridge has that type of a tip:
Here is the drag sync cartridge:
That is correct. It does suggest you can MARK on aluminum, but not CUT.
It does look like a drag setup. I am guessing you could use it for drag cutting when using it by hand.
I tried to attach the Hypertherm SYNC Cutting Guide but it is 13 MB (exceeds the 8 MB limit of the forum). Here is a link that will download it to your computer.
Yep gray in color
