How to fix Hydraulic Engine Crane [SOLVED]

I have an old 2T Engine Crane that has never worked well. It lifts, but then, even with the valve tightened, it slowly lowers. I need to use it on a project where I can leave it lifted for several minutes. Is there something I can do to fix this one or do I need a new one?

It’s usually easier and many times cheaper to buy a new ram for it. Big Red is a decent brand that I have had some success with but even a Harbor Freight no name one should be fine if you are not using it everyday.

Search YouTube for videos on how to fix a leaking hydraulic jack. They can usually be fixed or adjusted to stop the leak down.

Either do as David said or use this as an opportunity for an upgrade, and outfit it with a new air over hydraulic ram.
