perfect thank you i really appreciate it!

While a lot of people have had success running divided voltage from the primeweld’s CPC port, others have not.

The most reliable source for the THC voltage measurement (RAW) comes straight from the lugs with inside the prime weld.

Here’s a PDF outlining the procedure from @nicaDd

Going this direction you would use the other pathway through the voltage input module (VIM)

You could also use a port like this

instead of running the wires through the louvers of vent cover would make install the little cleaner.

@KevinB how is your installation and the prime world been holding up for you?

I’m normally on the side of running only raw on a CUT60 and agree I’ll never run or suggest going divided.

The cable he has in his hands only comes with the newest variation and that’s what he owns. No one has opened it up yet to run raw, but the power supply along with the voltage divider are all completely reworked in the newest version.

That is good to know.

It’s likely the lugs where the raw voltage may be connected remain unchanged.

Only because I have regular talks with certain people at PrimeWeld, as I did press on about the divided voltage issue that plagues all 1st Gen and 2nd Gen CUT60’s - they’re all aware of it as well and have known for quite some time fortunately.

I talked with both Gene and Dustin in-depth and they went as far as telling me how they also tested various machine torches (including other cheap Chinese copies) to ensure compatibility remained the same.

Otherwise yeah I would never suggest divided prior to their newest version!

It’s Four and a half years since they were taking off the langmuir plasma compatibility list.

Maybe they’ll see themselves back on it soon.

Maybe all of my posts with the pics of the signs I’ve cut should be deleted since I’m using one of those cursed 1st gen Cut60s

Just kidding. I understand Langmuir not wanting their tables getting a bad name based on issues with cutters, but agree it’s time they reconsider the PrimeWeld stuff. I love my 225amp PW welder, and I assume they have been making improvements to their plasma cutters too. Awesome customer service for sure.

My business partner bought a TIG 325 by PrimeWeld, which he likes very much. The best amps for dollars that we can find.

If PrimeWeld thinks they have their plasma figured out they should extend the olive branch and just send one of the new ones for free to Langmuir’s head office in Conroe TX.

Shoot I was gonna have one sent before release lol I actually declined it since I had purchased a Hypertherm end of last year.

But they do indeed send stuff out to certain people for testing before release, and I did turn down a few things…

I love that their customer service has been so consistent throughout all my years of owning PrimeWeld. They’re even in the Crossfire Owner’s Facebook group and like to be on top of things if their customers are having issues.

Its really hard to tell if is was an actual cut60 issue or langmuir issue.

I have 3 cut60 cutters (actually 4 with the latest version they sent me) all running divided voltage using the original VIM box since day one with no issues. #2 was a pre-release to Gen2 and #3 was actually CrazyCasey’s cut60 they sent me to test.

I also have the 1st batch of the CF pro, unmodified (there was a component taken out on later versions of the Controller due to possible EMI issues).

I would speculate that there was a revision made to later versions of the controller or even VIM box that didn’t agree with the cut 60’s which made then fry the resistors on the VIM boxes for some users.

At any rate, i believe the issue is now gone with the newest revision of the cut60.

It stands to reason, if you didn’t have trouble with the other ones you would not have trouble with this one.

It needs to be tested by someone that has trouble with the older ones to see if its REALLY been fixed.

@xhades101x Welcome to the forum and good luck

Welcome to the forum.

If the port method works well for you, a new title for this thread might help the next person. Something along the lines of:

“Primeweld Cut60 3rd Generation Connection to Crossfire Pro”

if your cut60 came with a ready made cnc connector with 7 wires coming out, then use wires 1/2 for torch on/off, wire 4/6 for thc.

Langmuir should have provided 2 cables with barrel connectors on one end and 2 bare wires each on the other. the cable with white jackets is for torch on/off. the cable with red/black wires are for thc. that one should be red to red and black to blue.

The wiring worked for my gen3 cut60, these f bomb remixes I grabbed off the file share were the first cuts and ran them with minimal setting tweaks, left hand is without THC and right is with THC on ( don’t mind the extra piercing, I was working though an issue)
