Green cut is not working

Can anyone tell me why this is happening? I put a gallon of green in a newly cleaned water table and there are no leaks this time

Green what?

1 gallon of concentrate and 13ish gallons of water?

Have you been cutting aluminum?

Looks like electrolysis chemistry experiment.

Bacterial growth. This is how it is: If you cut SS, aluminum, or even steel, all the chrome, nickel, and carbon byproducts will ferment. If you leave the water in the table, it will become a science experiment :lab_coat:. It is not rusting, though

But they said it was newly cleaned?

I know when we spoke about this you had said the greencut was settling, and was leaking out of the table.

I wonder if now it’s settling still, and then bacteria is growing again anyway because the greencut isn’t moving around?

It may be time to set up a drain and fill system.

Or the product that is being used does not have any antibacterial agents in it.

It says it’s antibacterial, but it also says it’s formulated with worker safety in mind and helps to heal lacerations. That seems bold…

If it’s eco-friendly, it doesn’t work. Period. Life lessons learned.

I see the greencut bucket says stir before use. I’ll have to see if my sterling cool says that too.

I use Sterling Cool without problems. But I will say this if you have cadmium-plated screws holding down your water pan, the plating will deteriorate. No harm to the screws themselves, but the plating will slowly disappear.

This was a test we did many years ago.The non-plated nut had no damage the cadmium-plated bolt did.

Yeah I’m using sterling cool as well. Although I drain and fill every use. I’m wondering if most of my sterling cool is settled in my holding tank though and if at this point I’m just pumping up a very thin mixture.

It is rusting my mild steel

It is likely that the concentration of GreenCut has fallen below a level that allows it to be effective: whether as an anti-rust or anti-bacterial solution.

Every drop, splash and spray of solution that leaves the table is taking GreenCut away from the overall concentration level in the pan. This assumes that as the level of fluid drops, you were adding only water to fill it back up.

I would drain and rinse the entire table. Start with fresh solution at the recommended 1 part GreenCut to 20 parts water.
The Pro table holds about 15 gallons. If we consider 15 gallons, that is 1920 ounces (128 oz/gallon). Divide that 1920 ounces by 20 to get how many ounces of GreenCut is needed: 1920/20=96 ounces. 96 ounces would be 3 quarts.

So put 3 quarts of GreenCut in the table. Fill with water. You can “stir” the solution as you add the water by moving the hose around.

Make up a solution of 1 part GreenCut to 20 parts water so this can be used to “top off” the table as the solution is lost. Since one gallon is 128 ounces, the 1:20 mix would be about 3/4 cup of GreenCut and fill your one gallon container with water.

I haven’t had any issues using plasma green cut 9010 in my pro table and XR table for over five years now. I drain tables at end of day though and only have added water to solution when level starts to get low, no rust on material that is left on table for weeks no smell from water tanks?? If you are cutting aluminum, make sure you are using the plasma green cut 9010 its for aluminum and steel cutting.

You are correct, “Plasma Green” has two different products:

But, if we are talking about GreenCut, they only have one “Plasma” fluid product and it is rated for both steel and aluminum:

They also have this product, also rated for steel and aluminum

I see that “Plasma Green” is much cheaper than “PlasmaCut” “GreenCut”!

Thx for doing the math for us these last two times we’ve been putting a gallon of green cut in

I can testify that Plasma Green 1050 will let you have a chemistry experiment when cutting aluminum. Looks just like the OP pics.

Sterling Blue. It is the same price as the GreenCut 1050. I have had zero problems or participated in scientific experiments with this stuff. Now the crap in the bag I know nothing about except it’s cheap. Sorry inexpensive.

Not sure that is going to sell very well…

I have Sterling Cool and it works perfectly.

This is the stuff that comes in a bag that you mix up the powder. I am not familiar with this product except that it exists.
