Can you post of pic of the container Ben?

Easy to do. While I was correcting you, I did this:

No such product as “PlasmaCut”! (Well, there might be such a product but not what we were talking about.)
I meant “GreenCut”

That is cutting fluid, not plasma fluid. That is for a milling machine or lathe
This is what you need.

Sterling Cool :sunglasses: $200 5 gal pail solves your problem. It will last a long, long time.

so this is a prime example of read what you buy…
read the instructions…read the descriptions…

READ THE SDS SHEETS for the products you use…

at least this stuff is pretty damn safe when exposed to flame and heat and vapor…

I have seen people use radiator test fluid in their plasma water…if you read the SDS on that stuff it can become toxic when exposed to flames and in a vapor form…

Plasma cutting fluid is designed for plasma cutting…

I had no idea that the water table would grow stuff. I throw some borax in from time to time. I allways have a can full by my forge when making jellyroll or cable damascus. These bacteria and what not, are any of these plasma table pets know to be a problem like cause serious health problems? No I’m not drinking it but my hands get fairly #&$@ up being a blacksmith fulltime and I guess it becomes airborne also. PS If you feel the need to point out my grammar is not to your satisfaction you could at least contribute to a answer not just lite me up like your September Christmas tree . " I would post or ask questions a great deal more but I get put on blast from the spelling police.

I guess it is more of the “abundance of caution” since we don’t know. There are some known ill effects that plasma and welding cause with stuff like galvanized metal. I guess I think of the potential consequences of cutting your finger with a piece of metal dripping with the Petri dish we call the “water bed.” There are also the inhalation of unknown chemicals and “potentially” microbes that are suspended in the air.

Just being cautious. :man_shrugging:

Not me. I live in a “glass house” of poor grammar. You are in good company here! :upside_down_face:

I just use borax and let the slats rust away when I'm not using the table, they are consumables and I don't care to prolong their life. I must say they look like absolute shite, but I am still using the originals and I got my table on the first batch, what's it been 5 years now?

only real problem i have is the borax doesn’t always stop mosquitos from using the table as a breeding ground.

I don’t use borax because through my research it sterilizes human reproductive organs

Interesting…Borax is banned in Europe, Ireland and Canada.

California is still allowing it, which surprised me until I read this:
