Got a few files cut today

I feel like I am catching on. Most of these files were off of a download I purchased and modified for my use. I used canvas and splined the Peterbilt emblem, and converted a vector and modified for the mustang. Big thanks to TinWhisperer for the direction on the FFA emblem which then allowed me to do the Marine details. Some are not cleaned up yet.

I think you maybe losing steps slightly . looking closely at the FFA sign.

Check your motor couplers for tightness.

Check the motor plug are seated correctly.

check the tightness of the backlash nut bracket on the x axis.

or maybe the sheet was moved slightly.??

all in all it your cuts and pieces look great!

Asking as a complete novice here, can you be a little more specific where in the FFA sign he is losing steps? I tried to spot it and I can’t discern any flaw. I’m trying to train my eyes to spot such things before I get my Pro. Thanks in advance.

The owl’s eyes

a few of the full close contour feathers at the top.

A lot of the open contours that run around the decorative ring

I happen to have seen the design ahead of time so I can tell a few things are off.

OK, that makes sense, I’m not super familiar with the FFA logo. Going back and looking I can see it with the eyes.

once you start cutting…and start diagnosing any issues you have you will start to see the same things…

I had an issue with my z axis and had to recut part of it. I guess I had some slag that got in the z axis rod. I cleaned it and it has worked fine. I will check all of that. What exactly are you referring to as sealed motor plugs?

I meant to say seated.

Make sure the motor plugs at the electronics enclosure are seated all the way, fully plugged in.

Sometimes the little screws that are meant to keep the motor plug in place hold it out too far from making a reliable connection.

I saw this post on plasmaspider and thought of you. Someone offering the FFA files over there. Just thought I’d pass it along in case you are not a member of that site.

Thanks, I have another from there, but this one will help with smaller uses. Mine needs cut 28 inches to cut clean.
