Fusion360 Lost Tool from Library Recovery

So a while back, about two weeks, Fusion was wanting an update due to it not being supported by my previous OS for Apple. Did the update to the newest version of OS from Apple and Fusion was running extremely slow and taking for ever on design work. Deleted Fusion from my computer. I also went with macOS Sequoia 15.0.1 version and re-installed Fusion. It runs really fast now and operates like before.

Problem now, when I do a new design and go to the manufacture tab I have issues. Setup works as it should. When I go to the 2d profile and I click on the “select” tab next to tool, mine isn’t in the tool library anymore. How do I recover my tool ?

I gave a possible answer on the other topic:

nope, posted in the other thread about what my findings were. I deleted FireControl from my computer and will try and reinstall it later this afternoon. Hopefully this will do something. Haven’t had any problems with the system for three years. Did updates for Fusion and FireControl and I’ve had nothing but problems. Can’t remember how I installed my plasma cutter before the first time I installed it three years ago. If someone would just tell me how that can be done would be awesome. I am by no means a computer expert and most of this is just a different language for me. It was so simple before, create a part in “Design”, then go to “Manufacture”, do the setup and the 2D profile, and finally post process. It would save to my post process file on my desktop and then I would open FireControl. Upload which one I wanted to cut out and off to the races I’d go. No issues.

Now you are sure you are logged in as the same username/password?

And I know it is “water under the bridge” but once you get your tools set up, be sure to save them in a “local library” folder. Fusion gives you that option.

So there is a chance that the tool library is still on your computer. It sounds like you were only using it via a “local library.”

Try to import/export the library to the cloud and perhaps it will search on your computer for the folder and file.

Not being an Apple user ( :face_vomiting: ) I can’t confirm if it deletes all folders and subfolders when uninstalling any software, but on a Windows OS you’ll normally have left over files and folders from most installs.

However, you would’ve had to export your tool library manually in order to have it saved locally.

It isn’t saved on your online profile as this is readily apparent when you log into Fusion on any other computer.

You could always manually save your tools all over again by opening old saved files as the specifics for the tools used are saved within each file itself.
