Fireshare postings?

He doesn’t appear to be an active participant on the forum, so he’s not likely to view this thread.

The best way to get a message to him would be through Fireshare, just not in an insulting way.

I actually just a couple days ago made a userscript to hide all of their posts on there. It also makes all the posts the same size so they are in a grid instead of thrown all about. I did find a bug on the FireShare site that I need to message someone at Langmuir about, the “All Projects” drop down resets when going to a different page cause it loses the t= parameter in the URL.

You need an email associated with a Fireshare account right? Maybe Langmuir can take it down and follow up with an email about disrespect towards others.

While Drew’s files might annoy some of us, that upload was totally uncalled for.

:backhand_index_pointing_up::backhand_index_pointing_up: this 100%. I think this would go a long way in cleaning up fireshare and making it more user friendly. I know some have suggested this to Langmuir in the past. Hopefully we can get this feature someday.

I think you need an email to set up an account. I know you have to log into Fireshare separately from the forum, but I think it’s the same login and password.

Yeah so hopefully Langmuir can reach out via email due to the intent of said upload.

It would be nice if there was a way to flag them for review.

It looks like the account was just created yesterday for the purpose of uploading that file.

Well hopefully it doesn’t start spreading onto the FB group - last thing you need is a post to go up and other people start to dog pile.

Hey guys,

We got this post from FireShare removed as it is not appropriate. We should look at a way for us to get notified/flagged by users whenever one of these posts goes up. For now though the best way to get ahold of us to get things like this removed will be through our email at support@langmuirsystems.com

Thanks again,
Zach H

Hey Zach

As this post started out, the question was why all the files that are basically useless to everyone because they don’t say what they’re for and you can’t make sense of it.

Is there any way to fix that?

There are definitely some improvements that can be made on FireShare. I’ll relay some improvements to our website developer that should hopefully make the website more beneficial for everyone.

When FireShare was first introduced back in October of 2020 it was said you could Upload Projects for personal use or toggle to share publicly with the community. Apparently that never happened. That change right there would solve a lot of problems.

Today we are excited to announce our first major update to FireShare!

Starting today you can upload and download cuttable G-Code files for your CrossFire CNC. FireShare accepts .tap, .nc, and .gcode file types that are compatible with FireControl and Mach3. FireShare renders a visualized cut path so you can see what these programs look like without loading an image or vector file.

This update also allows you to customize Feed Rate and Pierce Delay on download so you can tailor the files you download for your particular material, thickness, and plasma setup. With FireControl 20.5, you can scale and rotate any compatible program downloaded from FireShare so you can truly make any file fit for your needs.

Over the next few weeks we will be making even more updates to FireShare with features like:

  • Direct connection to FireControl so you can quickly access your G-Code files from FireShare right at your CrossFire machine.

  • Upload Projects for personal use or toggle to share publicly with the community.

  • Cut Chart recommendations so you can select recommended Feed Rate and Pierce Delay settings for your cutter, material, amperage, and thickness.

  • Notifications when your projects are commented, downloaded, remixed

We think that this update makes FireShare much more useful and we hope the Langmuir

Well that explains everything! Thank you for posting

That “direct connection to Firecontrol” never happened either.

Well that explains it also.

Seems the idea at least in part was to help us overcome the “one clean computer for CAD/CAM, and one at the table” scenario.

It would be nice if you could select Fireshare during post processing and just have the .NC file saved there at that time and then access it with Firecontrol.

Posting here only because this is the ‘most recent’ Fireshare thread around.

Has anyone noticed that you can’t delete your own uploaded files?

@Kwikfab
Tin brought this up earlier in this thread. It’s been discussed and asked for in the past.

In the past, it was possible to delete items you yourself uploaded.

I decided I wanted to delete something and well, clicking DELETE just takes you to the actual page itself. Not sure how recent the change occurred but it wasn’t always this way.

Editing was never an option I’ve seen, but deleting a project entirely was.

I haven’t posted on there as much as I’d like. The last time I did was a couple years ago and I don’t think it was an option then but I could be wrong. Seemed like there were a lot of double and triple posts because people would make a small change and there was no option to delete or modify. I’m probably wrong.
