My wife would kill me.
You have to get your moneyâs worth. Run them till you smell the adhesive burning.
I keep some around that are just a bit less used than that one. for jobs that will kill the disks (like edges and blades) Not worth wreaking a new disk for those jobs.
Youâre suppose to change them???
I thought you only changed them when you wanted a different grit! ![]()

I felt the same way Bret! I was like âthere is lots of good wear left on that one on the right.â ![]()
I donât go that long the edge gets to rounded, and they polish more than grind.
I am looking at going back to this style but in this quick change type
There is another brand called Combi click
Flap discs work good for final grinding after knocking welds down with something else.
I guess it depends on how good it has to look and what your grinding.
@ChelanJim @72Pony ⌠is there something you guys need to tell me? You let @Knick in and not me?

Where did Knick get IN? Phillip you are always invited.
Edit:
Finally got it ![]()
You thought Knick became a member of the Grinderâs Anonymous Club (GAC). If he did get in, we wouldnât know it!
You donât have to be a member of the club to use a grinderâŚgolly gee!!!
Nothing Iâve found works better that PFERD 61167 for fast grinding. These are awesome, flappy disks donât even come close. One thing to consider, using these doesnât heat up your work because theyâre so fast. I have a dedicated grinder with one always on it, they last a long time.

Thanks for the tip. I ordered a 10 pack of the Pferd discs, which will probably be a lifetime supply for me. Iâm not a member of the grinders club, but I occasionally need to grind a weld flush or grind mill scale for weld prep.
And âWEâ donât want you to be a member. We just ordered jackets and they are numbered. Too much of a hassle to change the order now! ![]()
not sure who started guying you about the grinders club⌠I donât think people are going to stop anytime soon.
I just got 10 pack of the 5" version. I hopefully will be surprised.
You need to step up your game. Grab a Holey Galahad and stop replacing flap discs ![]()
I couldnât use that. It says âbest used on flat surfaces.â
My welds are never flat.
I use the combiclick, not impressed with them. Abrasives give up the ghost too fast.
I do like the Victograin, gotta be careful because how fast it removes metal.
Combi-click system works great. You can keep the ground surface flatter, and with care a 36 grit disc can still leave a decent surface finish, or hog away material like a beast.
I agree with @Sticks, the high grits seem to glaze over faster than flap discs though.
