I would like to move my laptop way further from the machine that the supplied cable allows, I bought a five meter cable but it doesn’t like it, so I bought some ferrite chokes for the cable but doesn’t like that either. Maybe I need to add more, before I start experimenting has anyone figured this out already?
Hopefully this thread will answer your question. I used standard USB without chokes on them and they worked fine.

Lengthened mine 15ft as well, used this ferrite arrangement at both ends of the extension and no issues.

I just bought a 15 foot USB cable off Amazon and added chokes. As long as I keep it away from the work clamp cable I’m good to go. I also did the little inductor delete or whatever it’s called.
