Does the 62i have an internal air pressure reg? I seem to read a bunch of posts about internal regulators either being bad or off. Can’t remember if it is the Everlast line, or the Razor Weld.
Point is, do you know for sure that your torch is actually getting the air pressure you are looking for?
Is the torch in the mount rigid? Mine has a little side to side movement that requires me to make a new slide that fits in the Z axis a little tighter.
Non question on the wet air corrections. Keep at it.
I might be in the wrong here, but 1/4 inch material with a higher amp cutter, max that baby out and bump up the speed.
I run a 62i and have for 4 years…the pressure regulator is actually a stand along device mounted on the back of the plasma so it can be replaced to a better model if you want…the onkly thing is the 62i has a visual digital pressure reading on the front…
So as you adjust the rear regulator is shows on the front of the plasma…
Alright, I have installed the aftercooler (post tank) as well as the automatic drain valve. I just ran a cut with brand new consumables from George and unfortunately, it did not cut all the way through. I kept identical settings to what has been serving me well.
The only change is I used to use a 1.1mm tip and this time used a 1.0mm. Do I need to adjust my kerf witdth settings maybe?
Details
PSI: 75
Amps: 51
Tip: 1.0
IPM: 42
Metal thickness: .25"
Cut height: .043
Pierce Delay: .9
Pierce Height: .11
Retract Height: 1.2
THC: Enabled
As stated, these are the settings I’ve used before with success (except for the bevel) and was hoping the combination of aftercooler, automatic drain value and quality consumables would remove the bevel. But unfortunately resulted in a worse cut.
It did cut all the way through, I can see the sparks below the plate. I am guessing the dross was holding it. You need to check your torch height manually and make sure its .060" from the cutting tip to the metal, as it looks like its higher then that.
i put the old consumables back in and made these cuts with the same settings. That’s why I was wondering if made I just need to update my settings to go with the new consumables
