hello all. i have had my crossfire pro for about a year and all is running good with a miller 625x. long story short in our shop occasionally i need to cut more than 5/8 so i just ordered a 2021 everlast 102i. i have been reading on here for a while about problems hooking them to the crossfire and just wondered if anyone was running the 102i. if so i would love to hear how it works and what you had to do to make it work correctly. Any feedback would be helpful. thanks
i have the 102i and it works great ive been cutting some 3/8 and 1/2 with awesome edge quality but i also paired the 102i with the x125 machine torch from plasmadyn
That a interesting idea. Might have to look into that. Thanks for the feedback
Do you use plasma dyn consumables? You like this torch better than the ipt100? Thanks!
I use the plasmadyn consumables on my 102i duramax torch. I like the combination, just got my table grounded which solved an issue I was having with piercing and consistent cut quality. This issue was causing my consumables to wear prematurely so I don’t know about how it will run on consumables now that the issue is fixed. So far seems like the consumables last about 3x as long as when I was getting molten metal shot up at the shield and nozzle. I have cut half a full sheet of 1/4" so far to come up with that estimate. Overall a great setup so far doing production runs on 1/4 and 3/8 mild steel.
Appreciate that thank you. So Hypertherm consumables are not compatible I take it.
I do see where the confusion comes into this. Here is a listing for the torch on Ebay and it clearly states: “Machine torch”
Then when you look at the body of the listing it says “hand torch”
I would say those are Hypertherm consumables or Hypertherm knock offs. Either way, the Hypertherm consumables are meant to fit on that torch with the caveat “Torch uses many STANDARD Hypertherm Parts.”
They just don’t make it easy. On PlasmaDyn’s website, they don’t clear it up either.
Okay thank you I will try the hypertherm consumables then as long as it won’t blow it up.
Freaking plasmadyn.
The duramax torch I have on my 102i is a hypertherm duramax torch adapted to the everlast 102i. The torch is a hypertherm product and uses hypertherm consumables. I buy my consumables through plasmadyn and am pleased with both. Hope that is what you were wanting to know…
There is a reason for not clearing thing up.
Ahhh George you are as cunning as you are wise! ![]()
