I am ready to do the epoxy pour but my shop is pretty cool. Its around 20f outside. Does anyone know if I can do the pour in this temperature? I can turn on the shop heater and get the temp up if I need to. Anyone?
I covered mine in a tarp and some blankets with the space heater set at 75. With the small volume enclosed, the space heater had no problems keeping up and it kept it nice and toasty for it
Tarp and space heater is a great idea.
Remember to mix it and then mix it again.
Personally I believe that the dryin problem come from the two parts not being mixed correctly. Again just my two cents☺️
Key the epoxy in a toasty warm place prior to mixing, you don’t want to fight mixing cold epoxy.
Before mixing I put part A and part B containers in a 5 gallon bucket of hot bath water.
Did that twice before mixing to get the temp of the components up a bit.
I didnt make them super warm but got them to what room temps would be in a 70-80 degree garage.
My garage temps were in the high 50s to low 60s.
I just ran my shop heater for 2 days. 300gal propane got toasted but its cured
If the heater that you’re running is 80% efficient that means you used 22 million BTUs worth of heat.
That’s the equivalent heat of burning an entire cord of wood.
Or about the same amount of energy it takes to heat my house for 5 weeks the winter.
Are you sure you don’t have a leak? .
HAHA nope. I have 14’ ceiling workshop that is 35’ x 35’. (2nd story not heated) Eariler this month we hosted the pinewood derby build for our local boy scouts troop which we heated the shop for a whole day. Plus ran it a few hours here at there before this. I dont doubt running this thing at 70F in 15F weather helped
