Support hasn’t replied to any of my emails in over a week. Really disappointed with this company
@Sktzo really sorry to hear that.
Very uncharacteristic of them. I’ll see if I can draw their attention.
Thank you. The phone number on the site didn’t work either.
Are you sending emails or submitting a support request through the website? Support requests will probably get priority.
i had an email conversation going then it went silent. i opened new support requests too.
Which one is it? Long wire or the short? I have a new one that I can send you if you need it right away. Are you sure that’s the problem. It’s more likely that the connection at the control box is loose or has burnt pins.
Have you checked the power supply for 36 VDC output? Let us know the specifics.
It is the shorter Y motor. The pins were burnt. would electronic parts spray help? I could try removing the screws and press-fitting it. Could you elaborate on the process for checking the power output? I have a multimeter ready.
Take off the cover to the control box and check the voltage from the bottom of the power supply with a multi-meter set on DC voltage. One will say - the other + they should read 36 volts DC. If not, you can try to adjust the output with the trim adjustment pot next to the wire connections. If it’s not putting out the correct voltage, the motor will not have enough power to move the Y carriage correctly or not at all.
Have you tried switching the Y connections at the control box to see if the problem moves to the other side?
Let me try the other Y port first
Check all the pins for a burnt one or two. If you need a motor I will send you one and you can just replace it when you do get one from Langmuir. Just PM me your address. I believe my one is the long-wire one, but I am not sure.Adobe Acrobat
So i’ve misspoke. when i unplug the “working” Y motor, the other Y motor spins, and the lead screw spins, however the gantry doesn’t move.
Sound s like a lead screw nut. They are made of plastic. But, now you have more info for Langmuir. They will get back to you.
Are you sure that your coupler has not failed? Mark it with a sharpie on the lead screw, and the coupler is slipping.
The lead screw spins without issue, and the gantry isn’t engaging. I unplugged the good Y-motor to isolate the problem too. It must be the lead screw nut.
@TinWhisperer Thank you for tagging us in this.
