Differences in new machine and older machine

New to the forum and looking for some information. I was looking at buying a new MR-1 machine and then an opportunity came up to buy a machine locally that was ordered 06/23 but never built. Everything is still new in the boxes. Does anyone know if there have been any significant design changes since 06/23 that are beneficial in the new machines over the old? I know that the probe is not v2 but I understand I can buy a kit to update that. The machine that’s locally available comes with mostly all the bells and whistles including a couple Saunders Machine Works vises at about a $1500 savings. Trying to decide if I should just stick with new from Langmuir or purchase the local machine.

Any input is much appreciated.

Thanks!

Just update the drainage system and limit switches.
You’re good to go.

Thanks for the quick reply! What update should be done concerning the drainage system? Is that just moving them or are they different drains that need purchased?

Several people on this forum have made significant modifications to this issue
Just click on the spyglass and type in MR1 drains.
Take your pick.
They sell the new drains and limit switches on their website for less than $100.

This is what I did.

I appreciate the info!

You can also choose to purchase just the drains from us. Here’s the link: MR-1 - Flood Coolant Drain Kit – Langmuir Systems
