Didn’t like the dimpled OE drain, so installed a bar-drain instead. I used the plasma to cut the hole for the drain which made it super easy. even though the bar drain comes with a rubber sealing grommet. I put some extra insurance of some clear silicone to seal the drain to the water pan. I did note, that I also had to make an extra 1/4” spacer between the bottom of the pan and the sealing nut. It appears that even with the nut sinched up, the drain was still loose. I did not bother trying to dimple it since it sits pretty flat against the bottom.

That’s what I did on my OG 2x2 system. Used the PC to cut the hole without any water in the pan (Nice clean hole by the way) and a Welding blanket under the table to keep my workshop from burning down. It doesn’t drain completely but I’m not fastidious about matters like that anyway. The bottom of my water pan looks like a metal junkyard that will, occasionally get cleaned up. The piece getting cut doesn’t care and it certainly won’t burn through the pan!
