Everyone needs are different because we all do different type of work with the machines. I mainly only do prototype work. Therefore the tool setter is valuable to me. For the type of parts that I do it isn’t uncommon for me to have 10 or 12 tool changes in 1 op. Because of NDA reason I can’t disclose what I do however having some other features in the software would be helpful like cutter comp. and can cycles. IMHO
I want to say at least 4-6 weeks out, I will do my best to ship it out faster though. I’ll focus on getting the tool setter bug fixed and will possibly get an update shipped out with just that as the update and nothing else if it means I get it out a week or two earlier.
If you haven’t already I would give us a call or email us at support@langmuirsystems.com if you are still having issues
And essentially that is supposed to be how it works, it just runs a standard probing sequence (G38.2 I believe) down till it either hits the tool setter or bottoms out at the soft limits that are set. There shouldn’t be much of a difference between the probing sequences from the previous version, and this new version.
tool changes are a massive time suck. I just use a smaller tool that can do more things. I bore a lot of holes that most people would drill just to save time on tool changes. Now if you’re dealing with lots of undercuts that require special tooling there is no way around that.
Ditto! Noticed the same issue. Do you happen to know if replacement boots are available? Thanks!
So MR-1 users have been put on the back burner for the press brake, and now a laser. I’m wondering, was the software for those machines not ready when they were released, like the MR-1? I wish I could afford to swap the controller and get some reasonable functionality that WORKS. We’re just constantly being left behind as paying customers who’ve helped make your machine better, so langmuir can get NEW customers.
They just need to post Cutcontrol source code and let us develop it for them. I have no doubt that the community would create a new one that blows theirs away in a matter of weeks.
I would LOVE to participate in that!
Turns out… it’s not very hard to decompile a java program. You’ll note that Langmuir never released 24.1.1 for Mac (I’ve decompiled the windows release and recompiled here for Apple Silicon Mac) and I’ve changed the text in the UX to read “unlocked”.
I do know its easy but its a lot easier if they provided all the info instead of us having to RE it.
has anything been released yet on the tool setter error ? or should i just go back to cut control 24 for now?
Langmuir sold to PE shortly after the MR1 was launched and the rest is history. Little focus on improving existing products and lots of focus on new products. All in the name of profit. Thats just how it is, unfortunately for us. IMO the owners sold too early and way too young. They had plenty of energy left in them to create a bigger enterprise before a sale was worthwhile, I highly doubt any of them made enough money to actually retire or start a new venture. Regardless, I’ve been there and I support them because the machine is still a solid machine.
Fortunately they seem to be doing some work making the sw better, but not good enough. I wholeheartedly agree that they should release the code so the users can improve it. The whole machine is basically a kit anyway, why be proprietary about the software Langmuir?
We’re at that 6 week mark. Any word on when we’ll see an update?
Yep, just looking for the bug fixes that make the software usable. Please dont tie those into a release with new features (and its accompanying lead time). Id be perfectly happy with only a functional tool setter routine again.
Hey guys,
I really do apologize that it has taken me so long to get back. I wanted to get the safe auto tool set out and bug free to y’all as quickly as possible. With all of the new products + this time of the year being a very busy time in the tech office I have not had enough time to properly test and iterate enough to confidently get that feature free of bugs.
So I reverted the auto tool set to the 24.1.1 version for the time being and am going to include a installer below. This isn’t an official release and is a means to get y’all the new CutControl release with the auto toolset functional. If y’all have issues with this version just let me know and I’ll update the installer.
Again, really apologize, I want to continue improving CutControl going into the future and do have a list of a few new QoL features that would be nice additions as @langmuir-jake has been relaying any requests he gets.
Unofficial 25.1.2: CutControl 25.1.2.4
My man!
Thanks Zach, we will give it a try and let ya know!
Right On-THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
Would Langmuir be willing to extend a license for not-for-profit forking of CutControl (still intended for MR1 machines)? Or would Langmuir be willing to officially look the other way if it were to occur?
It’s clear that your software team has been overloaded with investing in products that are not the MR1.
Hello?
Are you there?
Anybody home?
Man, had I known you guys were going to treat us like this I would have never bought this machine. So many other options with excellent support that aren’t always chasing the next big release, and leaving paying customers behind.
