Hello all, I was trying to refresh myself on the CAM setup in Fusion 360, and I went online to the Langmuir site to look at the tutorial video I used to follow to do this.. it seems like maybe Fusion has been updated and the video is no longer up to date. Just enough difference to get me a little confused. Especially when I was defining the tool in the local library. The nozzle diameter and kerf width seem all backwards and upside down. Is there a more up to date video available? Or could someone tell me those 2 values to use for a Hypertherm 45 XP with a machine torch? Thanks for any help.
@paulr26 welcome to The forum.
I set the nozzle diameter and kerf width to the same dimension as the kerf width. Then at least if you do a simulation in fusion it looks correct.
The nozzle diameter won’t have any bearing on your G-Code in the end.
To get the correct kerf with dimension it will be showing in your cut charts in the hypertherm manual. Your real world results May vary slight from the manual and then you can use that dimension for future cuts.
I have a few videos I’ve made on YouTube. Nothing specific about the cam but it does run through it in a few videos. I’m hoping to make some more updated videos soon but life and work is holding me up.
