And a toyota guy to boot. Nice work.
So if you make that number today, then you shipped 169 in a week I’m #8764, at this rate it will be 2 more weeks before I get mine.
apparently not enough, since the package hasn’t left LS yet.
ups told me it would be here today. woke up to another email this morning saying “SIKE!! we dont know when itll be delivered”
Heh, I’m 8716. Guess I’ll work on my boat this weekend:+1:
Why are you posting pics of the box & not assembling your Pro?
Go see the post “Pro table build pics”
so i am order 8499 and international customers where suppose to get shipped after feb 27th when could i expect this to arrive
I get it that everyone is excited and impatient about when their Holy Grail box #2 is going to arrive, but jeez am I getting tired of the endless speculation of shipment dates occupying so much of the discussion.
I suspect if Langmuir had waited until all three components were ready to ship at once, no one would be experiencing (and expressing) such frustration, impatience, and anxiety, and might instead be waiting patiently (and quietly) for their machine to arrive -
I’m just sayin…
i bet youre just a blast at parties
Maybe I’m just not getting it - it’s just a brilliant marketing strategy by Langmuir to whip up enthusiasm for the product, like a viral video spreading demand via word of mouth!
That said, I’ll be as happy as everyone else when “my” box #2 arrives.
There you go…
Love that movie!
How about maybe it’s a matter of necessity? Sure maybe they think the inefficiency & extra cost of shipping multiple boxes to their customers over a 6-week timeframe is a good idea.
Or maybe because of the issue with the VIM box being held up and the earlier component that failed QA, they ended up having to choose between storing everything for 8 weeks, requiring the leasing of additional warehouse space and then hiring temp staff to try to ship thousands of units in a couple of weeks…or they store & ship multiple boxes based on staff & warehouse capacity?
After all who doesn’t staff & acquire space for several months of sales to be processed all at once instead of over a planned couple of months when they’re a small firm selling a price-sensitive product? Sheesh, makes you wonder huh? If Amazon can do it, why can’t everyone?
So did LS meet to goal of 200 shipped this week? At the end of the day I have $3600.00 of my dollars tied up into a promise that seems to be slipping. How do you eat an elephant? Either a bite at a time OR by bringing in more bodies for the feast. Reading the threads there seems to be some acting as controllers when the facts are we are “customers” who expect results. My unit is in Batch 2 but anyone who knows scheduling knows when you slip the critical path you slip the planned delivery of the project. Quit handling people when we express frustration with a company we are doing business with.
So you’re in batch 2 and complaining about shipping delays on something that hasnt even started shipping yet? Its called logistics. They are figuring it out with batch 1. That is why we got a discount. Guinea pigs so to speak. A month delay on my batch 1 order. I think thats very fair with a new product not to mention Langmuirs unforeseen setbacks
Right? It’s the Amazon culture - I want what I want when I want it!
I’m pretty sure they’ll let anyone cancel their order and wait until they’re in steady state shipping like they got to last year. Of course, you’d have to buy it again at the retail price but then there wouldn’t be any shipping concerns.
I did see another post by LS that they’ve got all the components for Batch 2 in house so not going to have another coronavirus shipping shutdown issue. But, I would expect that if something comes from us Batch 1 users that they need to change, that might affect Batch 2. So far it’s only been some documentation stuff they’ve mentioned changing based on the first couple of people setting up their machines (my last box comes in next week so I’ll be setting it up on the weekend). If they find an issue with a hardware component though, they’ll fix it before shipping more out - like they did with the relay they found from the first unit.
I’m patient but that’s because I’m old and I learned that you don’t get anything for nothing - we got a good discount on the new machine and we’re paying for it by being patient
Really? You got a discount to help LS fund the venture. You are welcome to continue cheer leading and i’ll continue putting pressure on them to meet THEIR goals. It business, not emotion.
You missed the part about follow-on effects from missing schedule goals didn’t you? Here it is, if you’re currently a month behind very likely the promise of an April delivery for batch 2 has slipped as well. So now I am likely looking at May before it shows up. So the question is valid. Is LS currently meeting published delivery goals? Answering this question is key to determining additional risk.
You did too. That’s the whole premise around pre-orders. The price is going to be $3000 - right now they’re selling for $2495. If you don’t want to worry about them missing a date, then wait for April and order it again to get their new post-initial batch dates & pricing.
Like you said it’s business. They made a commitment with the caveats that things might change and provided a discount in return. You accepted a projected ship date for that discounted price. If you want a tighter order-to-ship date then wait until they’ve finished all the pre-orders and see what the price & ship dates are.
They’ve posted already that they’ve got all the components for Batch 2 and are just getting into the final box shipping for Batch 1. It’s unlikely they’ll know if they have a 1 month delay to Batch 2 or if they’ll be able to catch up. I’d assume a month’s delay. If that’s unacceptable, cancel, get a refund and buy someone else’s $2500 table.
They have also posted that they would be cranking these things out at the rate of 200/wk. The question is are they meeting said goal? What you agreed to if you are batch one is $2k and a January delivery. You and others are now accommodating the contractual problems between LS and their manufacturer. Because they have a legal relationship they possibly can remedy their problems via liquidated damages. You, my friend, have two choices. Wait or refund. Because of the increased risk that the April batch is going to slip I am interested in status updates. I DO NOT see this as unreasonable.
I should say, “No, you are not correct. You are a part of a “pre-sale”. No one is “handling” you. Like James said, I am sure LS will refund your $3600.00.”
But what I REALLY want to say, (except it doesn’t meet the 20 character minimum), is:
“YAWN”
