Crossfire pro 9pin connector

Has anyone else have this happen? I’m looking for better options to fix the issue I have! Long story short seeing smoke come from a 9 pin connector makes your B-hole pucker!!!

I did a little searching on here but I must not be hitting the right key words…

It was a common issue for a while, due to the screws on the connectors being too long. What happens is that the screw bottoms out and then pushes the connector out if you keep tightening it. That caused the connection to be loose and caused arcing across the pins.

If it’s not burnt too bad, you can clean the pins by plugging it in and out a few times and then plug it in without tightening the screws.

It‘s burnt pretty good! I ended up putting a small piece of solider in the hole to finish my job. I’m going to replace the bad connector.
