Hi All,
I work for a small research company in the UK and we’ve been considering purchasing & importing an MR-1 for some light-medium duty CNC work. I was wondering if anyone here has experience in doing an electrical conversion of the MR-1 to UK or European standards (230-240VAC / 50Hz). We have contract electricans that can advise & approve the works on our side but I would be interested to see if any other customers have done this successfully, how it was done and if there were any peculiar challenges or things we should consider to avoid getting caught out if we do decide to purchase the machine for conversion. Ultimately, I suppose it would make sense to use IEC 60309 connectors, given the current the spindle is capable of pulling?
My understanding is that the machine its-self has a 240V switch on the power supply so we’d only need a transformer for the coolant pump and possibly some other accessories, but I’d appreciate any advice from the community.
Many thanks,
Matt
